The degree program „Time-Based Media“ of Hochschule Mainz

(https://www.instagram.com/hsm.zbm/) was the first academic program in Germany that focussed on digital media. Since 1996 students have produced films and videos, 2D and 3D animation as well as interactive multimedia works in the German city, where Johannes Gutenberg invented the movable-type printing press.

Tonight German media critic Tilman Baumgärtel, who teaches media theory at the department, will show a selection of recent short films, experimental videos, music clips, commercials, and documentaries by students of the department.
