Through the stories of three young women who had brushes with supernatural beings in the workplace, we get a glimpse of the life of Cambodian garment workers at the intersection of work, religion, family, and spirituality.

In the late 1970s, a couple of insurance salesmen from the San Fernando Valley asked Penelope Spheeris if she was interested in directing a porn film. “No, absolutely not,” she told them, “but how about a punk rock movie?”

Released in 1981, “The Decline of Western Civilization” (1981, 100 min) features the bands Black Flag, X, Germs and many others. It remains one of the most influential documentaries ever made about punk rock. The film captured the raw energy, attitude, and DIY spirit of the Los Angeles punk scene at the turn of the decade. It is so entertaining and so in depth that it is hard to fault.

Ennio Morricone (1928–2020) was a prolific Italian composer, conductor, and trumpeter, widely considered one of the greatest film composers in history. Known for his iconic Spaghetti Western scores (e.g., The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), he scored over 400 films, winning two Academy Awards, three Grammys, and six BAFTAs during his illustrious career.

“Ennio” (2021) is also a documentary film about the composer, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore. It chronicles his life, from his early work to international fame, featuring interviews and archival footage.

Many Asian men believe that obtaining a virgin girl for sex will grant them extra health and luck. Subsequently, there is a huge demand for young Cambodian girls, and the demand feeds the country’s sex industry.

Meta House presents the documentary THE VIRGINITY TRADE (2009, 60 min). UK filmmaker Matthew Watson documents all sides of this nightmarish story. Revealing interviews are held with the men who buy the virginity of young girls, politicians, the police, senior NGO experts, and the victims themselves.

The exhibition TOGETHER: ZERO PLASTIC presents a project that explores the relationship between community, environmental responsibility, and plastic pollution through the arts.

The exhibition TOGETHER: ZERO PLASTIC presents a project that explores the relationship between community, environmental responsibility, and plastic pollution through the arts.

Plastic pollution is one of Cambodia’s most pressing environmental challenges, affecting cities, rivers, rural communities, and ecosystems across the country. Addressing this issue requires strong communities built on shared responsibility, cooperation, and local engagement.

At the heart of the exhibition is the theatre and film production TOGETHER: THE LAST HOPE, created entirely by students aged 14–15 from “AUPP Liger Leadership Academy” in collaboration with GIZ and Meta House. The students independently wrote, developed, and performed the play, taking full ownership of the creative process, while receiving mentorship and guidance from the Meta House team.

The production has been performed in public schools and villages across Cambodia, sparking dialogue on plastic pollution and demonstrating how collective action can create lasting environmental change. To extend its reach, the play was also adapted into a film, bringing its message to wider audiences.

By empowering young people as creative storytellers and active members of their communities, TOGETHER: THE LAST HOPE and TOGETHER: ZERO PLASTIC highlight the importance of working together to build a more sustainable future.
