Two very different people, two very different lives. A friendship and trust that blossoms underneath the same sky in Cambodia. Georgina Pearson approaches her thirtieth birthday having spent the last ten years living the hedonistic expat life in the coastal town of Sihanoukville in South West Cambodia. It was on one of her occasional visits to the capital, Phnom Penh, that she met and became friends with one of that city’s great characters, Mr. Lim.

A moto-taxi driver for nearly 40 years, Mr. Lim has an unrivaled knowledge of Phnom Penh’s vast and uncompromising network of streets and boulevards. He also has first-hand experience of Cambodia’s traumatic and complicated history. Underneath the Same Sky, Cambodia explores this unique and fascinating friendship as Mr. Lim takes Georgina on a whirlwind tour of his Kingdom whilst sharing memories from his past.

Each confrontation with the ghosts that haunt Cambodia’s history leads eventually to Georgina accompanying Mr. Lim as he returns to the village and family he was forced to leave 42 years before.
