Kosal Khiev is a spoken word poet and tattoo artist. His family fled to the USA in 1981 during the Cambodian civil war and Khiev grew up there. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempted murder after a gang fight. He was deported back to Cambodia in 2011. He now lives in Phnom Penh, where he speaks about his experiences in universities, schools and prison workshops. Khiev sees his role as teaching young people about self-expression and helping them to take their lives in new directions.

During COVID 19 Kosal developed a passion for NFTs. Non-fungible token (NFT) art refers to digital assets stored on a blockchain that represent content or even physical items. Art mediums that NFTs can represent include digital drawings, paintings, music, film, poetry, or books. NFT art allows artists to sell or rent their artwork beyond the physical world.
