Mealea Lay is the frontwoman and swooning voice behind Miss Sarawan, the 1960s throwback musical act that has been performing around the country for almost a decade.

Mealea: “When I was very young at 10 I knew I wanted to follow my parents’ footsteps and become a singer. I was drawn into Cambodia’s golden age of rock-n-roll and fell in love with singers like Sinn Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea. I started to have dreams of being a singer and I always pictured myself in vintage dresses on stage.”
