Nana Rebhan’s new documentary “Made in Cambodia” tells the story of Phnom Penh’s German butcher Rolf Lanzinger, aka Lanzi, who arrived in Phnom Penh in the year 1992 as an army nurse.
Under the UN mandate, the German army (“Bundeswehr“) supported the UNTAC mission by operating a hospital in Phnom Penh, which Cambodians named “House of Angels”.

Lanzi – who had been raised in a German orphanage – fell in love with Cambodia and decided to stay. He seized the only opportunity that presented itself in his life and taught himself the butcher’s trade to build up his business with skill and perseverance. At times when Cambodians preferred foreign goods, Lanzi convinced his 25 Cambodian staff that “Made in Cambodia” could be a quality trademark to be proud of… The film is presented by filmmakers Nana A.T. Rebhan and Alfred Exner. Deutsch/Khmer/Englisch with English Subtitles Free Entrance!
