Filmmaker Andres Veiel details the life and work of the 20th-century German sculptor and performance artist Joseph Beuys. Beuys’ work reflected concepts of humanism, sociology, and anthroposophy. He was a founder of a provocative art movement known as Fluxus and was a key figure in the development of Happenings “I’m ready to provoke right now,” says Joseph Beuys in an archival clip from this somber, striking documentary, and director Andres Veiel has crafted a film that reflects his capacity to confront and challenge, to liberate and lecture.
