Event Details

The Berlin Wall may have fallen over 30 years ago, but nostalgia for East Germany lives on in the hearts of around 4000 Cambodians, who took refuge in the communist state in the 1980s. This was directly after the Pol Pot genocide in Cambodia, which killed 1.7 million people and left the country completely devastated. Due to Cold War politics the West would not take any action, while the Soviet-led bloc promptly delivered aid. The new documentary FRATERNAL HELP (2021, 45 mins) follows this almost forgotten story from the perspectives of those who lived it.
Meta House shows the best Cambodian Docus every Saturday, 7PM.
