The Berlin “Reichstag” – built in 1894 – witnessed key events in German history, including the rise of Hitler’s Nazi party and the reunification of East and West Germany. Nowadays, the “Reichstag” is the seat of the German Parliament. Before reconstruction began, the Reichstag was wrapped by the Bulgarian-American artists Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude in 1995, attracting millions of visitors. The installation involved covering the building in 100 000 m2 of shimmering fabric. The transformation lasted for 14 days, engaging to reflect on the past and future of Germany, symbolizing unity and change in a reunited Berlin.
