Women in Cambodia play a fundamental role in the national economy, with one of the highest female labor force participation rates in the ASEAN region—approximately 78.9% in 2023. Despite this strong presence, many women remain concentrated in informal sectors and continue to face challenges such as wage inequality, limited access to leadership positions, and the disproportionate burden of unpaid care work.
