Meta House proudly hosts Cambodia’s annual SIMA Awards showcase — the world-renowned Social Impact Media Awards from Los Angeles, celebrating the most daring, visionary, and change-making storytelling on the planet.
This year, the “Speak Out, Sisters” team curates an exclusive 4-day mini-festival spotlighting international women’s lives and women’s rights, featuring standout documentaries by leading Cambodian filmmakers – each presenting their work live on the Meta House stage.

A DAY OFF FROM THE FACTORY (Cambodia, 7 min; Dir. Sao Sopheak) – Part of a series portraying the daily realities of Cambodia’s garment workers, produced in collaboration with the ILO’s Better Factories Cambodia program and Meta House. The project brought together students from Meta House’s film school and Western documentarians to capture riveting insider stories of the country’s largest industry.
MADE IN ETHIOPIA (Ethiopia, 91 min; Dir. Xinyan You)- As a sprawling Chinese factory complex pushes to expand in rural Ethiopia, three women pursue new opportunities—only to see their hopes tested by harsh realities of rapid industrialization.
