A celebration and redemption of things that have been discarded. All the clothing photographed in this exhibit is recycled or hand-woven and made by at least one Cambodian fashion designer. The Re-Made in Cambodia (RMIC) exhibition centers the work of young Cambodian designers and promotes the sustainable use of clothing. This exhibition reflects both the wearability and beauty of recycled clothing and the people wearing it. RMIC challenges traditional views of clothing. The common Western “production-only” view of Cambodia’s garment industry withers against the creativity of our artists. The wider project also features a fashion show on June 11.
