Helene Bertha Amalie “Leni” Riefenstahl was a controversial German film director, photographer and actress known for her role in producing Nazi propaganda.
“The Last of the Nuba” is the English-language title of a documentary about Leni Riefenstahl’s African photo series “The Nuba”. The 1976 book was the subject of a famous critique by Susan Sontag claiming that it adhered to a “fascist aesthetic”.
