Event Details
The “Dangrek Genocide”, also known as the “Preah Vihear Pushback”, is a border incident on the Thai-Cambodian border in June 1979. Bunseng was among 45,000 Cambodian refugees who managed to escape to what they believed was safety in Thailand, only to be forced back over the Cambodian border in an area heavily infested with landmines by Preah Vihear Temple.
James Taing is the son of the protagonist, co-producer and co-director of the new documentary “Ghost Mountain” (2024, 40 min). He started the Preah Vihear Foundation in 2016, to make the film and to preserve the history. James will hold a Q&A after the screening.
