Event Details

The German Embassy in Phnom Penh and Meta House invite you to the opening of the exhibition “1+1=1 (WEST & EAST BERLIN POSTER ART BEFORE RE-UNIFICATION, COLLECTED BY LUC CITRINOT).
After World War II, defeated Germany was divided into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation. The Berlin Wall was a guarded concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin and the German Democratic Republic.
The exhibition consists of posters from 1970s and 1980s West-Berlin East-Berlin, collected by French National Luc Citrinot. “I went to Berlin for the first time with my father and brother in 1978, at the age of 14. I fell in love with Berlin. I began to collect all the information and documents I could find on the Berlin-West and Berlin-East. To me, this now reunified city has an energy, joie de vivre and a unique cultural and architectural heritage.”
Entrance is free.
Light refreshments will be served from 6PM-7PM.
We thank the German Embassy for their support.
