Film was once a hugely important and respected medium in Cambodia, with no less than King Norodom Sihanouk himself writing, directing and starring in movies during the 1960s. Since the devastation of the Khmer Rouge period, cinema is making a comeback in Cambodia. Meta House regularly shows quality documentaries and arthouse dramas from Cambodia, Germany and many other countries. Screenings are often accompanied by presentations.
