Vicheka Kol is a law graduate turned filmmaker, trained at Rithy Panh’s Bophana Center. Her award-winning films center on education, social change, and environmental issues. Her award-wining documentaries were featured at the “Cambodian International Film Festival”.
At 7.30PM, Vicheka will present her recent documentary about the “Speak Out Sisters”-film festival at Meta House, as well as short fims about survivors of sexual violence under Pol Pot. Vicheka’s documentary “On the Boat, on the River (2022, 10.47 min) – produced by Bophana Center – introduces you to a young Muslim couple, both in their 20s, who live on a boat north of Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. All films are screened in Khmer language, with English subtitles. Vicheka will hold a Q&A after the screening.
At 8.30PM senior Cambodian filmmaker Sao Sopheak mixes Cambodian Rock of the 1960s, featuring the music of female singers Ros Serey Sothea and Pen Ron.
