Phnom Penh’s legendary live act Electric Universe returns with a brand-new chapter: The Next Universe. For 15 years, the project (founded by Berlin producer Nick Meta alongside US musicians Tim Sirois and James Speck) has fused live synthesizers, strings, grooveboxes, and DJ culture into hypnotic, psychedelic jam sessions. From stages across Cambodia to virtual performances in Second Life, the band has built a cult following.

A deep dive into the crypto ecosystem and blockchain technology reveals the good, the bad and the ugly of the controversial industry, its major narratives, conflicts and the major players behind it.

On 14 November 1979, “The Australian Women Weekly” magazine featured the photos of Neville Waller, who wrote: “Of all the many assignments I have covered, the most difficult and disturbing was the coverage of the 1979 refugee crisis in Kampuchea. It was the most soul-destroying scene that I have ever witnessed.”

The late British photographer Tim Page (1944-2022) was one of the pre-eminent photographers of the Vietnam War and Cambodia’s UNTAC times. In 1997, he co-published the book “Requiem”, featuring many thousands of pictures by journalists who were killed in the Indochina Wars. Photos from this book are on currently on display at the ECCC’s Resource Center Phnom Penh.
