COVID19 has been a big challenge for Cambodian artists, as they rely heavily on tourism and public events to sell their work. Venue-based sectors such as museums, cinemas and galleries were the hardest hit by social distancing measures and lockdowns. In 2021, the number of tourists dropped by 90%. The Cambodian government took measures to help businesses and workers of the tourism sector. But no such support was provided to artists or arts organizations. The German NGO Heinrich-Boell-Foundation (HBF) has commissioned Meta House to produce a documentary about this timely topic. We invite you to the premiere screening of “CAMBODIA: COVID 19’S MARK ON ART” (2022, 19min, Cambodian language with English subtitles) at Meta House; many of the artists and arts activists from Battambang and Phnom Penh, which we interviewed for the film, will be present.  The premiere screening is followed by a talk and the screening of other short documentaries about the development of Cambodia’s nascent
