Event Details
The Overseas Press Club of Cambodia (OPCC) is hosting a premiere of The Race to Catch the Last Fish – an upcoming Mongabay documentary by Andy Ball, Gerry Flynn, Vutha Srey and Emilie Languedoc.
The documentary dives into the murky world of illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing off the coast of Cambodia, exploring the impact of unsustainable fishing practices on coastal communities in Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk provinces. Caught between plummeting fish catches, evictions on land and limited solutions to both problems, Cambodia’s coastal fishers are struggling to survive.
Meta House will be showing The Race to Catch the Last Fish on the day it is published, so this is your chance to see it in person before it’s available online!
A short Q&A with Andy and Gerry will be available afterwards, while drinks and food will be available throughout.
This event is free and open to both OPCC members and friends of the OPCC – we hope to see you there at 6.30pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
